Higher Efficiency during Melt Filtration

With the new scraper geometry, the contaminants are lifted off the screen immediately and conveyed directly to the discharge system

When recycling plastics, laser filters can satisfy requirements that conventional filters cannot. With the aid of laser technology, very small holes can be created in the screen disks. The conical shape of these holes produces a self-cleaning effect. This makes laser filters ideal for processing highly contaminated materials.

Erema has now advanced the technology of laser filters even further. By using a new scraper geometry in conjunction with a new discharge system, it is possible to remove the filtered contaminants faster and more completely than previously. The scraper disk rotates between the filter disks, immediately lifting the filtered contaminants off the filter screen, and transports them directly to the discharge system. This process takes place continuously. The newly optimized discharge system then removes the contaminants in a controlled manner with only a small amount of melt.

Thanks to the redesign of the scraper geometry and discharge system, the high-performance filter system removes contaminants even faster and more thoroughly than before. The result: cleaning efficiency, separation capacity and ability to concentrate contaminants reach a very high level. In addition, the service life of the screens and scraper is extended considerably. A further benefit is the need for less service. The new laser filters are available with throughputs of 350 to 3500 kg/h and with a filter fineness between 90 and 800 µm.
