Swivel nut of plastic material

The plastic union nut for attaching taps to the outlets of tanks is made up of two halves (58a, 58b), each with an internal thread and an annular shoulder which fits over a flange on the tap. The halves are held together by slides (63) with a U-shaped cross-section which fit over radial lugs (60, 62) at the ends of each half. Thin ribs (72, 73) on the inside of the slides fit into grooves on the outsides of the lugs and stops at one end of the groove sand ribs hold the slides in position.
