The right turn (part 2) – Friction-locked compounds via assembly injection molding for overload protection
The special injection molding process assembly injection molding can be used for the economic production of friction-locked plastic compounds for overload protection, which realizes a constant torque when activated. Its successful application requires the systematic discussion on the aspects material selection, processing and product design. In this article important influences of material properties and processing are shown as well as strategies for part design.
