The right turn (part 1) – Determination of characteristic values for assembly injection molding

Assembly injection molding, as independent option of the multicomponent technology, allows the manufacturing of turnable or provisorily adhering plastic compounds in one process, skilled combination of materials and process control assumed. A secure function as pivot, hinge or gear speed requires exact interaction of the single components, expecially regarding the affection towards adhesion, the tribological properties and the resulting geometrical relations. In order to systematically show the potential which is up to now only empirically available, a specimen mold concepted at Lehrstuhl für Kunststofftechnik shows the effects and possibilities of material and process options.
