Recycling of Cast Polyamide Waste
Cast polyamide 6 wastes are processed into extrudable polyamide recyclates. This is done by a reac-tive compounding process on a twin-screw extruder using grinded waste flakes and further additives. Rheological and mechanical analyses show the potential of the compounding process to adjust the properties of such recyclates, especially their flow behavior, tensile strength and impact strength, using such additives. Thus, it is possible to adjust the material’s properties according to the used process parameters or field of application.
