Optimised process control for the injection moulding of thermoplastics based on process variables
A system which controls the injection moulding process based on process variables has been developed at the Institute of Plastics Processing (IKV), Aachen, during the last years. It controls the quality determining course of the cavity pressure directly and realises a specified gradient of the cavity pressure in the injection phase. In the holding pressure phase it performs an online optimisation of the process based on the pvT-behaviour of the used plastic material. By this means, the quality constancy of the produced parts can be considerably increased.

The Journal of Plastics Technology is a peer reviewed internet periodical published under the auspices of the Scientific Alliance of Polymer Technology (WAK)
International Polymer Processing, the journal of the Polymer Processing Society, is a discussion forum for the world-wide community of engineers and scientists in the field of polymer processing.
The journal covers research and industrial application in the very specific areas of designing polymer products, processes, processing machinery and equipment.
The Journal of Plastics Technology is indexed in SCOPUS, the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature.
