Investigations on manufacturing of high-performance composite parts by the gap-impregnation process
Within this article a new liquid composite moulding process for manufacturing of high performance composite parts - called ‘gap-impregnation’ - will be presented. The gap-impregnation process facilitates a very quick impregnation by using a temporary flow gap. Besides fundamental investigations on the mould filling behaviour during the impregnation there will be results on manufacturing of flat, monolithic parts and curved sandwich parts described.
