Injection Transfer Moulding for Thermoplastics – An Alternative to the Multi-Cavity Injection Mouldings
Injection transfer moulding (ITM) is a combination of the well known injection moulding and transfer moulding processes. Research work at IKV made the ITM process suitable for processing thermoplastic materials and hence offers an alternative to the injection moulding process with multi-cavity moulds for a flexible production of small parts in large numbers. After introducing the mould concept as well as the course of the process, the implementation of the ITM technology to an ITM mass production mould is presented in this paper.
The Journal of Plastics Technology is a peer reviewed internet periodical published under the auspices of the Scientific Alliance of Polymer Technology (WAK)
International Polymer Processing, the journal of the Polymer Processing Society, is a discussion forum for the world-wide community of engineers and scientists in the field of polymer processing.
The journal covers research and industrial application in the very specific areas of designing polymer products, processes, processing machinery and equipment.
The Journal of Plastics Technology is indexed in SCOPUS, the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature.
