Fatigue Crack Propagation Behaviour of Polyamide-6 Nanocomposites based on Layered silicates
Object of this work was to throw light on the structure-property-relationships of Polyamid-6-montmorillonitenanocomposites. Thereby nanocomposites manufactured by an melt extrusion process, containing organoclay contents between 1 and 15 wt.%, stand in the foreground. Therefore, different investigation methods, completing each other in a meaningful manner, like electron microscopy, WAXS, tensile tests and fatigue testing has been done. From the influence of the layered silicates, an increased strength and stiffness combined with an increased ductility could be reached.
