Influences concerning the properties of small and thinwalled injection molded parts
This paper shows relationships between material properties, processing and resulting inner properties for injection molded small and thinwalled parts and describes their effects on the behavior in use. Morphological structures are being analyzed and correlated with the mechanical properties yield strength and elasticity modulus from tensile testing, both important for part dimensioning. The results show that material data from partially crystalline thermoplastics, taken from standard specimens can not unrestrictedly be used for the dimensioning of small and thinwalled parts.
