Screw Connection of Polymer Components

The connection process of polymer parts by metal screws generates a highly complex state of stress and strain additionally overloaded by the pretensioning force.

The state of stress and strain is described theoretically; In parallel the dependency between screw-in torque, overwind torque, extraction force, widening of screw hole and design data and material is tested. Derived from calculation and test result design guidelines are developed plus optimized screw geometry.
