Installation procedure and anchoring mechanism of plastic anchors in solid base materials
This thesis presents experimental and analytical research on the load bearing behaviour of plastic anchors in solid base materials. Splitting force measurements are applied to determine a correlation between strain and stress under the special conditions in the anchoring zone of plastic anchors. Anchor pull-out tests are considered to reveal correlation between expansion force and pull-out resistance and to explain the impact of certain parameters.
The experimental and analytical investigations are the base to come to general comprehension of plastic anchor systems. For this, the complex entire model is developed, explained and analysed. The outstanding meaning of the tribological and thermodynamic processes in combination with the temperature-dependent material behaviour of plastics is worked out. Particular effects regarding the pull-out resistance of plastic anchors are opened to a comprehension by means of simple partial models.
Based on simplified assumptions an alternative model is introduced, which provides a good correlation between calculated and measured pull-out resistance. It considers material selection and design of the expansion zone.
