Zytel polyamides and Hytrel thermoplastic polyester elastomers
Efficient, Cost Effective and Environmentally Friendly
DuPont Performance Polymers now includes halogen-free flame-resistant polymers based on renewable raw materials in its portfolio. This division of DuPont now offers Zytel polyamides and Hytrel thermoplastic polyester elastomers based on renewable raw materials, halogen-free flame resistant Vamac ethylene-acrylate elastomers (AEM) and a new halogen-free flame-resistant grade of its ETPV engineering thermoplastic vulcanizate.
The wide product range can be tailored to the variety of requirements in the wire and cable industry, supported by the company’s global production and delivery capacities. Jean-Maurice Griffon, global marketing manager wire and cable at DuPont Performance Polymers, said Besides our existing product portfolio, we are also continually developing new materials for cable and wire applications that meet the new, even stricter requirements on thermal and chemical resistance, with good mechanical properties and high extrusion rates, while also reducing environmental impact.
DuPont engineering plastics and elastomers can be used for efficient and cost-effective insulation and jacketing of straight and spiral cables, with high elastic recovery over a wide temperature range. Typical fields of application include the automotive and transportation industries, industrial robots and household appliances, marine engineering, the petroleum industry and the generation of alternative energies.
