A New Version of Feedmax
Combining Two Worlds
Again this year, Wittmann Kunststoffgeräte GmbH of Vienna, Austria, is introducing new developments for several different aspects of plastic processing. These products relate to automation, as well as to bulk and flow technology and the milling area.
With the Feedmax B203 net (Fig.), they have succeeded in combining the advantages of the Feedmax S3 net single loader with those of central loading units. Thanks to this combination, longer conveying paths and greater throughputs can be achieved. The self-explanatory, color control display has a status display on which the loading times, dosing ratios and cleaning cycles can be set for as many as six machines.
The materials intake of the new loader is a stainless steel construction and consists of two parts, a massive stainless steel casting with approx. 5 mm wall thickness, as well as size reducers, also constructed from stainless steel and connected to the casting by a clamp ring. Feedmax B203 net can be combined with vacuum generators with 7.5 kW maximum power.
The hinged lid is separate from all connections, thereby enabling quick system cleaning. The slanted opening allows easy, unlimited access to the entire loader interior.
Wittmann is also introducing its new Flowcon plus, an intelligent flow regulator that maintains both flow and temperature values constant over the entire duration of production with proportional valves and wear-free flow measurement. Disturbances, such as narrowing in a cooling channel or pressure fluctuations in the cooling system, are identified by permanently monitoring the preset flow values in the cooling channels and proportionally correcting them with the aid of stepper motors, thereby replacing the previous manual regulation valves. These stepper motors drive the fine regulating valves in Flowcon plus. Irregularities are thus prevented in the temperature control, ultimately contributing to improved part quality. Its compact footprint enables Flowcon plus to be mounted on the back plates of the injection molding machine, thereby eliminating long hose connections to the mold and the high pressure losses associated with them.
