Efficient Control Technology
At the booth of Windsor Kunststofftechnologie GmbH, Hanau, Germany, the European agent of Japan Steel Works (JSW) Ltd., Tokyo, Japan, a type J180AD all-electric injection molding with a clamping force of 1,800 kN can be seen in action (Fig.). The two halves of the picnic boxes produced on it are connected together via a film hinge. According to the manufacturer, the precise, synchronized movements of all relevant axes and precisely reproducible parallel functions ensure the necessary mold venting, low stress on the material and mold, and shorter cycle times with high part quality.
Up to six mold breathing and compression functions can run in one closing operation. The clamping pressure build-up and injection are optionally performed in parallel. At each waypoint during injection, the necessary clamping force and build-up time can be defined. JSW control technology makes it possible to record and evaluate the relevant process parameters, and perform optimizations if necessary, every 62 µs.
