varioFold concept

Flexible Hot Runner Manifold

varioFold concept

With the varioFold concept from PSG Plastic Service GmbH, Mannheim, Germany, nozzles and gating points can be variably positioned, allowing the manifold to be used for different molds. This offers advantages in prototype construction. The arms of the manifold cover a 30° range. Within this area, the nozzles can be moved steplessly and placed in exactly the required position for new parts. Even if additional gating points are required, these can be retro-fitted to the system. The basic manifold of the modular system offers ten or more connection options. For the hoses and cables, varioFold is equipped with movable ducts. So the hoses and cables line up almost automatically when the arms are moved. Even special customer requirements, such as side arm solutions, are possible with the system.

The flexible arms are held in the required position by Allen screws. When the screws are loosened, the arm can be swiveled and then fixed in the new position by retightening the screws. On request, PSG can conduct user training sessions on site to ensure that readjustment of the manifold is carried out correctly. In addition to saving time, the system brings considerable cost advantages, because it is no longer necessary to purchase new manifolds for each new application.
