TruMark marking lasers
Marking as Easy as Printing
Trumpf GmbH + Co. KG, Ditzingen, Germany, is the first marking laser manufacturer to directly connect a laser to SAP R/3 via a standard printer interface. TruMark marking lasers can now be interfaced to or integrated into SAP systems just like conventional inkjet or toner printers. For this, the TruMark marking lasers use the driver interface for printers stored in the SAP printer vendor program. The marking laser then takes the place of the printer, and the workpiece surface replaces label or paper. Company logos, type designations, codes or serial numbers can thus be applied to the parts by laser directly from the SAP system without programming know-how or additional software. The necessary laser parameters for a wide variety of materials are stored in the marking software.
The support of the SAP standard eliminates the need for additional hardware and software investments and the costs for their operation. The direct marking of parts saves consumables and applies the marking to the products directly. The marking in the material is sturdy and remains legible up to the end of the product lifecycle.
The use of a standard interface results in an enormous simplification in the integration process. With the SAP driver, Trumpf has created an ideal tool for clients with business models who handle orders from the webshop through to marking immediately before shipment via SAP without media discontinuities.
