Thermoplastic Polyester Riteflex (TPC-ET)

Stable and Flexible

Made of thermoplastic polyester, this new ski boot fulfills all requirements of skiers (figure: Celanese)

Thermoplastic Polyester. The requirements posed to the Heierling H1 ski boot are met by a thermoplastic polyester with the brand name Riteflex (TPC-ET). The Swiss company Heierling manufactures the ski boot, which features an optimum balance between stability and flexibility thanks to the high performance plastic supplied by Celanese Corporation in Sulzbach, Germany. This material not only makes the ski boot substantially lighter – it moreover provides for progressive-dynamic flex at all temperatures.

Heierling H1 is produced in cooperation with Alpina Sports. The shell and cuffs are injection molded from Riteflex TPC-ET RKX-350. This product type features a novel mixture of hard and soft segments, and has the desired properties of elastomers as well as the easy processability of thermoplastics. The ski boot is thus suitable for temperatures ranging from -40 to +121°C. Even at low temperatures, the material remains flexible and impact-resistant, while, at the same time, maintaining its high mechanical strength.
