New from Old

Solvay

With the Technyl 4earth polyamide 6.6 (PA66) grades, Solvay S. A., Brussels, Belgium, is committing itself to the issue of sustainability, particularly for eco-design applications. It is backed up by a recycling system for waste technical textiles, which produces PA66 grades that are comparable to virgin material in terms of performance.

For the needs of the automotive industry, two new Technyl grades of PA66 are available: A heat-resistant PA66 series specially suitable for applications in heat management, and a halogen-containing PA66 series for sensitive electrical and electronics applications. In the field of additive manufacturing, Solvay, besides advances in the use of special polymers, is also presenting new polyamide powders of the PA66 Sinterline. They are specially designed for 3D printing applications and the development of 3D-printed prototypes for small series, predictive performance simulation and functional testing.
