Avoiding Undesirable Finger Prints
Senoplast at K 2019
With senosan AM1800TopMatt AF film, Senoplast Klepsch & Co. GmbH, Piesendorf, Austria, is launching the third generation of matt surfaces onto the market. An advanced painting technique enables anti-fingerprint properties to be obtained.
The film not only effectively repels dirt but also has a very velvety feel. It is particularly suitable for different interior furniture applications as a 1D and 2D solution (flat lamination and post-forming).
For auto manufacture, the company is expanding its range of senosan ABS-PMMA sheets to include novel metallic shades. Since ABS-PPMA with a density of about 1 g/cm³ is almost eight times lighter than steel (7.8 g/cm³), the plastic sheet is only half the weight of its conventional steel counterpart, even with 4 times the wall thickness. In addition, according to the manufacturer, the semi-finished product tolerates minor parking damage without permanent deformation.
For the Suitcase Sector
For the suitcase sector, Senoplast supplies senosan C100 Matt, a sheet with a matt surface. This sheet is a polycarbonate multilayer composite and is said by the manufacturer to have high impact strength. The new surface is available in plain and metallic matt as well as with a grained structure.
Special Sheets for Railroad and Bus Applications
Senoplast also supplies special sheets for railroad and bus applications. For example, the matt, halogen-free, flame-retardant semi-finished product, senosan C60FR-5 PC/ABS, is designed for train side and partition walls and meets the HL2 requirement at wall thicknesses of 2 mm to 5 mm and HL3 requirement at 2 mm thickness. In addition, this semi-finished product has very good mechanical properties with an elastic modulus of 4000 MPa, an elongation at break of >25 %, and a density of 1.3 g/cm³.
For buses, Senoplast supplies the halogen-free, flame-retardant sheet, senosan CA60FR-3U Supermatt. This satisfies ECE Regulation R118.03 with a thickness of 1.5 to 7 mm, density of 1.29 g/cm³, and elastic modulus of 3700 MPa. The sheet is also available in a version with a lower density of 1.19 g/cm³ and an elastic modulus of 2400 MPa.
