Selection guide for bulk ingredient metering feeders FeederScout

Online Help

Brabender Technologie KG, Duisburg, Germany, has published a selection guide for bulk ingredient metering feeders on its website under the name FeederScout. The program is used for automatic selection of gravimetric or volumetric bulk ingredient feeders. After the user has entered the relevant basic data relating to the specific application, the FeederScout determines the metering feeder best suited to the technical and cost requirements of the application and, on request, can also supply a price quotation. The FeederScout program is based on months of work by process engineers, technicians and computer programmers from Brabender and a database containing the results of nearly 15,000 feeding trials. In addition to the bulk ingredient parameters entered, such as feed rate, bulk density and bulk ingredient class, the program also takes into account trial results such as filling levels for the specific bulk ingredient, flow properties and other characteristics not often considered in feeder selection. The program also suggests the best metering principle, such as screw or vibratory feed, and suitable equipment for activating the bulk ingredient flow.
