SE-EV-HD Injection Molding Machines

Specifically Designed for Molding Thicker-Walled Parts

Sumitomo (SHI) Demag introduced the SE-EV-HD all-electric to the North American market at NPE 2015. The new high-duty (HD) models of its flagship SE-EV Series are specifically designed for thicker-walled parts including complex parts with a combination of thin and thick walls.

Ideally suited for parts with cycle times 15 seconds and up, the SE-EV-HD can provide full pressure for up to 40% of the molding cycle while maintaining exceptional molding stability. Applications range from automotive, appliance and consumer products to other types of generalpurpose parts requiring high-precision, energy-efficient molding.

Key to the precision and molding stability of the SE-EV-HD are the full Z-molding capabilities and the ISC II servo controller. Designed to help molders achieve zero-defect molding and optimum machine performance, Z-molding combines three unique systems:

  • The Flow Front Control (FFC) System takes advantage of the energy in the flow front of the resin to complete filling in an even fashion as opposed to forcing material into open areas and thus flashing the areas that were already filled.
  • The Minimum Clamping Molding (MCM) System allows the machine to automatically detect the minimum point at which the mold halves are completely parallel and defines the threshold where flash-free molding can occur and the optimum point at which the best cavity venting exists.
  • The Simple Process Setting (SPS) System allows easy setup, operation and machine optimization while helping the operator avoid oversights and mistakes.
