Sabic PP Flowpact FPC 100
Economical Food Packaging
Sabic Polymers, Sittard, Netherlands, has introduced in Sabic PP Flowpact FPC 100 a new impact copolymer for its polypropylene series for thin-walled injection molding applications. The material has been developed specifically for the production of thin-wall containers for spreadable fats and packaging dairy products.
The introduction of FPC100 means that Sabic’s Flowpact series now consists of two impact copolymers and a homopolymer. As with the existing products, Sabic PP FPC55 and Sabic PP FPH50, the new variant contains a package of process and anti-static additives. Its high flow rate and crystallization speed make for shorter cycle times. In addition, it offers a balanced ratio of strength and stiffness.
The new PP material has a melt index (230°C, 2.16 kg) of 100 g/10 min, allowing for easy, high-speed production in multi-cavity molds. It complies with the provisions of the European Food Safety Authority EFSA and is approved for food packaging.
