Design Modifications Reduce Wear and Boost Safety
Rolf Schlicht at K 2019
Improving plant parts is how Rolf Schlicht GmbH, Reinfeld, Germany, increases the performance of its machines. Its next-generation RS Powdertech RSC-NG machines feature a newly developed electrostatic system and a new filter system.
The electrostatic system reduces wear in the gun and cascade. In addition, a modified design can limit the loss of performance so that the quality does not drop when two to four guns are used to powder parts. If necessary, an additional switch can be used to completely switch off the electrostatics while the machine is running.
Improving Safety and Handling
Additional modifications are aimed at improving safety and handling: the guns are made of stronger material and are more rugged than their predecessors. This reduces the risk of electric shock that may arise due to incorrect installation after maintenance. Automatic cleaning can be optionally installed in the gun to reduce wear. The new filter system provides better cleaning outcomes and is designed for longer filter life as well as simplified and more cost-effective maintenance. Both new systems can be fitted to older machines.
