Indirect Pressure ‧Measurement for Multi-Cavity Molds

The new cavity pressure sensor complements from RJG Germany GmbH, Karlstein, Germany, complements the company’s range of indirect-measurement pressure sensors. The 6 mm-sensor is in particular suitable for molds with high numbers of cavities, because, due to its compact size, it can be installed behind the closely spaced ejector pins.

The sensor registers a force up to the equivalent of 1.1 kN. Moreover, the company, which is part of the U.S. company RJG Inc. includes a 3 mm-sized indirect sensor with a maximum force of the equivalent of 250 N in its portfolio.

Flexible Installation

According to the manufacturer, the indirect sensor is approximately 20 % less expensive than comparable piezo multichannel systems. In contrast to the piezo technology, however, the connection cable can be bent and folded without damage, leading to flexible installation in a confined space. The sensors communicate with the eDart system from RJG and support the machine operator in diagnosing processes and the automatic detection of reject parts.
