Resistant to Hot Water
No More Overflow
ERG EHL Rohstoff GmbH, Solingen, Germany, is expanding its product portfolio with radiation-crosslinkable polyamide (PA) compounds: EHLamid-TM. This gamma-radiation-initiated curing mechanism improves various technical properties of the material, thus increasing the range of applications of polyamide.
The first application, an overflow tray for use in mechanical engineering, recently went into series production. The EHLamid B GF30 TM4 black 900 PA product specially developed for the purpose is suitable for hot-water contact. The tray had previously been made of polyphenylene sulfide PPS GF40. This application demonstrates the special properties of the radiation-crosslinked polyamide, such as higher continuous service temperature, considerably reduced stress cracking risk and improved chemical resistance.
