Farsoon Flight-HT403P is Taking the Beta Test

Farsoon Europe GmbH, Stuttgart, Germany, has installed a Flight-HT403P, claimed by the manufacturer to be the world’s fastest laser sintering machine for plastics, at Rapid Manufacturing AG in Rümling in the Swiss Canton of Zürich, Switzerland. This device can scan at speeds as high as 20m/s, enabling it to traverse the part geometry in the powder bed extremely fast.

The system is equipped with a 500 W fiber laser that shapes the black polyamide powder into plastics parts especially quickly. According to Farsoon, the resulting parts not only achieve good mechanical properties, but also exhibit very little surface roughness due to the high resolution of wall thicknesses. The building cylinder of the Farsoon Flight-HT403P measures 400 x 400 x 540 mm³.

Cooperation between Farsoon Europe and Rapid Manufacturing

In mid-October, Farsoon Europe and Rapid Manufacturing signed a common development agreement for the beta testing of this new Flight Technology from Farsoon. The aim of this agreement is to develop an optimized system for use in the production of plastics components. Following first tests, Rapid Manufacturing has now begun manufacturing parts for its customers.
