Drying Large Amounts Efficiently

But all eyes will be on the debut of their energy efficient and newly designed Somos T140 eco mobile drier (Fig.). This drier expands the Somos T/TF eco series of mobile dry-air driers to handle larger material throughputs. Its usable 400 l hopper volume and 140 m³/h dry air flow contrast clearly with the mobile driers available until now in five graduated sizes from 30 l to 300 l, as is also reflected by the revised design.
Also new is the drier control, now conveniently operated from a touchscreen offering various drying parameters and documentation functions adapted to the particular material. ProTec thus follows the current trend toward ever simpler operation.
Like all the company’s machine-side driers, the new T140 eco also consists of a dry air generator and an insulated stainless steel drying hopper. For economical energy consumption, the manufacturer states that the drier is equipped with the familiar energy-saving technologies of Somos driers: automatic adjustment of the dry air amount to the particular materials throughput and the Super Somos regulatory mechanism for adapting dry air generation to the particular current moisture loading of the adsorbent. The standard version covers drying temperatures from 60 °C to 140 °C at a -35 °C dew point of dry air. However, a high-temperature version is available for up to 200 °C drying temperatures.
