Plastics polypropylene, ABS and (PC+ABS) blend

Attractive and Scratch-Resistant

Plastics polypropylene, ABS and (PC+ABS) blend

Dow Automotive supplies the Mini with a multitude of materials that support technical and aesthetic features of the cult car. Materials include Magnum ABS resins, Pulse (PC+ABS) blend and the talc filled polypropylene Inspire. The application area for ABS is the air ducts whereas the (PC+ABS) blend is used for the instrument panel.

Long glass fiber-reinforced PP is used for a variety of the visible applications in the interior like the lower instrument panel, the door panel, the glove box, the mid console, pillars and trunk.

The polypropylene (PP) applications are manufactured using colored PP and fulfill the BMW requirements for UV stability, color stability and aesthetics. Moreover, all materials offer an outstanding scratch resistance. As the prestigious Mini model calls for a clear high-end design, meeting these requirements were crucial for Dow Automotive.
