Industrial Marking and Verification Systems
The latest CIJ models from Paul Leibinger GmbH & Co. KG, Tuttlingen, Germany, mark surfaces and products, such as extruded and injection molded parts, contact-free during the running production. Furthermore, the Sealtronic automated nozzle seal prevents drying of the ink even after prolonged stoppages in production, and is therefore ready for operation at any time.
Two models of the Jet3 series, in particular, are of interest to the plastics industry. With its 35 µm nozzle, the Jet3mi can produce very small and fine prints (Fig.). The Jet3pi operates with contrast inks for marking on dark backgrounds. The small-character ink jet printers mark even rough and convex structures.
Furthermore, Leibinger is presenting a further module for the Winjet3 software for controlling several Jet3 ink jet printers. Small plastic parts in magazines can be quickly, easily and cost-effectively marked from left to right and from top to bottom using the Winjet3 XY mounted on an XY portal. New texts, numbers or whole print jobs can be loaded directly via a hand-held scanner using a so-called shoot-and-print function. This measure helps to eliminate typical sources of error, such as selection of the wrong job or typing errors during the product marking. Furthermore, a print job can be updated within seconds using the prompt function with quick access to, for example, LOT or serial numbers.
The LKS 5 camera system extends the product portfolio of industrial ink jet printers to include a flexible verification system. Using preset reference values, high-resolution cameras detect, for example, register deviations or changes in the parallelism. The I/O controller ejects faulty objects. Even serialized products can be inspected and verified.
