Novolas TTS Laser Welding Unit
Neat and Compact
With its Novolas TTS (tabletop system), Leister Technologies AG, Kagiswil, Switzerland, has developed its smallest system for laser welding of plastics. The tabletop system is flexibly programmable and can also be used in production. According to the manufacture, the compact design contains all the components necessary for laser welding. The laser unit and welding cell can be set up separately from one another and therefore used as a compact system in production. Despite the small cell, the processing/welding area measures 100 x 100 mm.
The welding unit is controlled by means of a mini-SPS and is programmed via an HMI (human machine interface) developed in the company. The HMI transfers the process-relevant data to the system, where they are stored assigned to the project. The welding contour can be individually programmed in CNC code, while other parameters, such as laser power and velocity can be preset.
To the manufacturer's product presentation
Once the system has been implemented, it operates autonomously. Input devices such as the keyboard and monitor can be separated from the system for production. External access via a remote desktop is also possible if desired. The product will be available worldwide from summer 2014.
