New thermoplastic elastomers, engineering plastics and dyes and additives

A Variety of Innovations

PolyOne Corporation, Assesse, Belgium, is enhancing its product range with new thermoplastic elastomers, engineering plastics and dyes and additives. They include:

Thermoplastic elastomers: Particularly SBS or SEBS styrene block copolymers, cured thermoplastic products or halogen-free, flame-retardant thermoplastic elastomer compounds. It is claimed they can be used instead of conventional halogen-containing products without the need to modify the tooling significantly or reducing performance.

Self-lubricating LubriOne Compounds: They feature impressively low coefficients of friction and improved wear resistance.

OnCap additive concentrates that protect against termite and rodent attack: Thanks to the non-hygroscopic active ingredients, they are not extracted under typical service conditions.

PicoTint liquid colorants: According to the manufacturer, these additives are ideal for use in colorless thermoplastic technical resins without streaks or swirls.

OnCap BIO Impact T: The transparent masterbatch for polylactic acid (PLA) increases the impact strength of the base polymer while also improving transparency.

Biopolymer compounds for injection molding applications: The PHBV-based (polyhydroxybutyrate-valerate copolymer) biopolymer materials are obtained from renewable raw materials and decompose within six to nine months when composted.
