Multi-channel temperature and process controller EZ-ZONE RM

Watlow GmbH, Kronau, Germany, is bringing its EZ-ZONE RM multi-channel temperature and process controller onto the market for plastics processing and other fields of application. The unit offers a large number of control functions in a space-saving package and can be mounted on a DIN rail. The controller can include up to 16 modules, controlling between one and 64 zones, and can also be used as a PID temperature/process controller or as a limit controller. It can similarly be equipped with a relay output for power switching with a high current load. Further options include a current measurement input, programmable timer and measurement functions and also protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus RTU/TCP, DeviceNet and Profibus. The unit includes a current monitoring facility for the entire system, data recording, a redundant sensor function and an adaptive control for demanding applications. The integral control solution reduces the complexity and the time taken to wire up the connections. The time needed for fault rectification and the costs caused by downtime are brought down, since the controller precisely specifies any problems that are encountered with a sensor, controller, semi-conductor relay or heating element and notifies the user accordingly.
