Dry System, Consistent Product Quality

MTI Mischtechnik

Vent tec 2.0: High-performance aspiration for heating/cooling mixer combinations (source: MTI)

To provide for consistent product quality, even under varying conditions concerning process and environment, constant aerator air flow is necessary. The key to this is continuous analysis of all characteristic values that are crucial for the state of operation, and of the respective controlled aspiration. MTI-Mischtechnik International GmbH in Detmold, Germany, is a specialist in blending and compounding plants. On the occasion of K 2016, they will present a new generation of high-performance mixer aspiration systems (Fig. 1). The Vent tec 2.0 system meets two functions: Not only does it withdraw moisture from the mixed materials. At the same time, it is even able to reduce volatile substances. Most of all, when producing rigid or soft PVC dryblends or natural fiber compounds, consistent processing conditions are of major importance. Vent tec mixer aspiration offers the required homogeneous dehumidification rates, preventing deposits on the internal surfaces of heating and cooling mixers, extrusion dies and calibration equipment. For example, the system can prevent variations in material residual humidity or effects on dryblend quality that may vary annually. Final moisture contents below 0.05 % can be achieved.
