Flexible Solutions for Granulate Feeding
From the field of material conveying, motan-colortronic GmbH, Friedrichsdorf, Germany, is presenting the new Metro G conveyor line for granulate. This highlight is supplemented with Metrolink, an automatic coupling station with dedicated stand-alone controller. Furthermore, a permanent central vacuum system will be on show.
Metro G represents an innovation with which – thanks to the modular design – an optimum conveyor can be configured for every application (Fig.). A standard conveyor, for example, can be expanded into a white room version by the use of special diaphragm vacuum valves. A dedusting module allows very fine dust to be removed at the end of the conveying process. For materials which are more difficult to separate, modules with a tangential material inlet which operate with the cyclone effect are also available. Metro G allows the adequate conveyor system to be configured for every individual demand.
The compact Metrolink material distribution system is used to allow any desired combination of material and machine to be produced quickly and reliably without the danger of confusion and impurity occurring. Static pipe connections ensure the necessary safety until the next material change. The automatic emptying before each material change guarantees contamination-free operation. The automatic and monitored switching of the material paths prevents any confusion. Each Metrolink unit can feed a maximum of 32 processing machines with up to 16 different materials.
The conveyor is operated by means of a central permanent vacuum system that is characterized by continuous availability of vacuum capacity for all connected conveyors without a fixed line assignment. A vacuum control system automatically adapts the conveying air volume in the whole system to the demand by fan speed control and by switching fans on and off. The vacuum capacity required by the conveyor system at any time is then available. For the user, this drastically reduces the energy costs, as switching fans on and off is minimized and the vacuum in the lines to the conveyors does not have to be permanently built up again.
