Drying System Eureka Upgraded
This year again, Moretto S.p.A, Massanzago, Italy, is placing its well-known Eureka material processing system at the forefront of its fair appearance. The Eureka system consists of three modules, the Flowmatik airflow control and distribution system, the OTX drying hoppers and the X-Max dryer and is, according to the manufacturer, the only system that can handle up to 12,000 kg of material per hour. Furthermore, energy savings of approx. 56 % compared with conventional drying systems are claimed.
The central module is the X-Max dryer based on Moretto’s patented X-Technology. It consists essentially of a multi-layer monomolecular screen dehumidifier that ensures a constant dew point between -65 °C and -85 °C. Although the screen bed is twice the size of that of conventional systems, it still requires no cooling water or compressed air for the changeover valve. In addition it is characterized by complete energy recovery due to rotation with the energy being won from the cooling of the screen bed during the molecular screen regeneration.
Between two and ten X-Max dryers can be combined with one another, offering an extremely high drying capacity of up to 20,000 m³/h process air. If the maximum drying capacity of the system is not required, the Flowmatik airflow management unit can shut down one or more dryers within the configuration and divide the reduced power between the other dryers.
The process air supplies up to 32 OTX drying hoppers. The inside geometry of the hoppers ensures a uniform process air and material flow through the whole hopper. Thanks to the special construction, drying efficiency and performance have been maximized. The energy consumption is far lower than that of comparable hoppers, and the drying speed around 40 % higher.
