New Control Unit Improves Data Transmission
Maguire Products Inc., in Aston, Pennsylvania, USA, will showcase the new generation of their control units, i. e., Maguire 4088, designed for their gravimetric blender. Their data processing capacities are much higher than those of their predecessor. In this age of digitalization of production, they enable communication with other devices. With batch accuracy unchanged at 0.1 %, the successor of Maguire 1212 features higher frequency and a larger storage unit, making it seven times as fast as its predecessor. Operators can choose whether to operate the device via a keyboard, a digital decade switch, or a novel touchscreen. The software that is required to feed several materials into the blender is integrated into the touchscreen in its standard version, so as to meter gravimetrically the blend of components in a processing machine. The new control unit with its enhanced function steps up volumes as well as velocity and reliability of data transfer. Via any standard type of communications protocol, the process data can be transferred to devices of other brands.
The company also presents a new concept for conveying granulate or reclaimed rubber, respectively, by means of vacuum. The LoPro series defines a system with conveying capacities of up to 650 kg/h over a distance of 4 m. The flatter design, compared with other suppliers by 80 % (200 mm above the dosing unit), allow for a considerable reduction of oscillations in fast-running processing machines. The dispenser valve of the LoPro material separator, which is 3 to 6 times wider, enables a flow duration of just 1 to 2 seconds per cycle depending on the flow characteristics. A vacuum pump mounted on a movable floor rack is used for conveying the material, which is functioning in a similar way like a "mini central conveying system".
