From Lightweight to Heavyweight

Macomass

Lightweights and heavyweights can both be found at Macomass AG, Aschaffenburg, Germany. Wherever weight has to be saved, Macomass incorporates glass bubbles into different polymers. These compounds are considerably lighter than conventional thermoplastics, but the processability remains completely unchanged. By contrast with lightweight construction, the positive characteristics "sturdy" and "stable" are associated with high weight for some products. In all these cases, Macomass compounds with barium sulfate as filler can be used, also with metallic pigmentation. Engine housings and pipework systems are typical application examples. A sound insulating effect of such highly filled materials is a further positive side-effect.
