Luxan K Pigments
Catering for the Latest Taste
The variety of possibilities opened up by the use of effect pigments is demonstrated by Eckart GmbH, Hartenstein, Germany, with its Luxan K range of pigments. Because of their exceptional optical properties, these pigments enable different effects to be achieved both in transparent plastics for cosmetics packaging to make it glitter or sparkle, and in vehicle interior trim, for example, to produce deep piano black shades. In household appliances or sports equipment, the pigments can be used to produce a certain brilliance and glossy look. They can also be used in food packaging. The glass-based pigments are available in five interference colors: silver, gold, red, blue, and green. They are specially formulated for use in polyolefins and PVC but also for PC and acrylic polymer and are suitable for all current processing methods. Because of their high chroma, only low pigment concentrations are needed to produce a saturated interference tone, according to the manufacturer.
The twelve new trend colors, known as Colour Road 2018, are marketed under the motto "Authentic Emotions". Thanks to the use of effect pigments, these colors are suitable for furniture and interior fittings as well as for consumer goods and home/decorative accessories. The range offers blue, green, anthracite, and bronze shades with captivating metal effects. The gray shade stands out for its pearlescent luster and the warm red and yellow tones charm with their color depth.
