PowerWeld Series

For Small, Moderate and Large Production Runs

The PowerWeld 2600 welder demonstrates the speed and accuracy of laser welding (figure: LPKF)

As a specialist for laser welding of plastics, LPKF Laser & Electronics AG, Fürth, Germany, offers a wide product range that includes stand-alone systems, in-line lasers for installation in systems, customer-specific units and systems for testing and process monitoring.

The benefit of LPKF InlineWeld systems is their space-saving design with compact laser head and separate control unit. The laser head requires only minimal space in the line, while the control unit can be mounted wherever desired. Stand-alone systems from the LPKF PowerWeld series are available for small, moderate and large production runs. A PowerWeld 2600 unit (Fig.) with rotary index table can be seen in action at the exhibit stand, and is intended to demonstrate the quality and speed of laser welding.

The robot-assisted LPKF TwinWeld3D hybrid welding system is intended for welding large, three dimensional free-form parts. It is ideal for high quality and economical welding in appearance areas, for instance, automobile taillights. A rotary index table helps to reduce nonproductive times and permits welding of alternate taillight pairs in one pass. LPKF ClearJoining is a new laser process. It permits welding of transparent components without absorbing additives. With a positioning accuracy of 10 µm and weld seam widths of 100 µm, this system is also ideal for miniature microfluidic devices with sensitive channel structures.
