Linerless adhesive label technology

Less Weight and Waste

Linerless adhesive label technology

The labels usually employed for food wrapped in plastic film are generally made from paper, cardboard or plastic film. Linerless adhesive label technology eliminates the substrate and thereby saves on weight and reduces packaging waste.

The new Rayoface NB range of BOPP films from Innovia Films Ltd.., Wigton, UK, has been developed specifically for linerless labels. The film is available in white and clear grades, and in a thickness of 92 µm (as replacement for cardboard tubes) and 60 µm (as replacement for conventional pressure-sensitive labels and wrap-around labels). When converted into linerless labels, Rayoface NB can be used by retailers on lidded food trays for meat and fish product packaging. If the label is applied directly to the packaging, labeling scrap and weight can be reduced by more than 30 %.
