Dry, Store, Mix, Feed and Dose
Kreyenborg Plant Technology GmbH & Co. KG in Senden, Germany, will present the areas of application for their IRD infrared rotary dryer, which serves to crystallize and dry various types of virgin or regrind plastics materials. The continuous rotary dryer requires no energy-intensive dry air conditioning. As stated by the company, this is the main reason why up to 30 % of energy saving is possible, and why the device is particularly suitable for applications with high degrees of input moistures that vary. Direct heating with infrared light is a gentle way to transport the moisture from the raw material’s core to the outside, because the drum rotates constantly, agitating the material. One of the dryer’s special applications is coating granules with powders or liquids, with the rotation principle making the coating medium wet and stick to the granule extremely well.
For the first time, Kreyenborg will also have on display their PET-Booster, which is also a continuous system designed to dry granules within 7 to 10 min. The system makes it possible to eliminate varying input moistures, as well as the process variations entailed – most of all in applications with degassing extruders. Using the booster in a preliminary stage improves outputs by up to 30 %, says the company. The new pneumatic conveyor strainers by Kreyenborg have container geometries that prevent bridging or feature internal bridge breakers. The compact central filter unit with its large filter area is particularly suited to meet the demands posed by dusty regrind materials. Thanks to the modular design of the products, the components can be connected to form a complete plant and can be integrated into the PLC control system.
In addition, Kreyenborg also present their Universal Quick Mixer and Masterbatch Mixer as well as silos.
