Krelus AG in Oberentfelden, Switzerland, offers customized as well as standard products to heat composite materials or embossing calendars, above thermoforming plants, ranging up to pre-drying and heating units and other applications. The infrared radiators heat directly, without glass or ceramic, thus being very efficient, with low heat loss at the rear of the device. As a result, no cooling is required. Because their reaction times are so short, the radiators allow for precise control of the material temperature, and they are convenient in case of production outage. The IR radiators are very favorable due to their narrow medium frequency range (+/- 3 µm). At this range, many materials can absorb infrared energy extremely well, which can save considerable cost as compared to conventional methods.
