Key Data via Smartphone
Host Computer System on the Move
Having up to the minute production data available only on the office computer is not always sufficient for effective information management. In order to retrieve data from the Arburg host computer system (ALS) in real time from any location, authorized "ALS Mobile" users can access their internal company network via their smartphone - for example during a meeting or when a customer inquires when their parts will be ready. The new analysis tool is particularly useful for Just in Time suppliers and production managers who want to make use of employees and machinery as efficiently as possible.
In order to continuously monitor and control production performance data on the fly OEE calculations can be transmitted to a smartphone. Overall Equipment Efficiency - a metric derived from quality, effectiveness and availability - gives insight into added value from individual machines and sites right through to the entire manufacturing operation. In addition the ALS analysis tool allows real time monitoring of cycle times, current orders, shifts, batches, part numbers and utilization levels within the machine park.
All data can be viewed in multiple ways, but for security reasons it is not possible to forward, save or print these outside of the company’s internal network. Mobile access is enabled externally via a secure virtual private network (VPN tunnel) or internally via the company’s WLAN network. As well as smartphones, other web-capable device can also be equipped with this new functionality.
