Compressed Air 4.0
Kaeser Kompressoren SE, Coburg, Germany, will have on display the Sigma Air Manager 4.0, designed to control the components of pneumatic generation and processing throughout the machine. The main target values are pressure quality, variable flow rate of the compressor system with varying consumption of compressed air, and higher energy efficiency. In addition, the control unit is the basis for future services such as sustainable maintenance. The technology underlying is a so-called 3D Advanced Control scheme that considers switching losses as well as control losses due to idle times, frequency converters and pressure flexibility. It determines optimum values of operation and then controls the components connected in a way to make sure the required pressure is maintained. Device control offers 30 languages and a 12-inch touchscreen. The "traffic lights" implemented show if the system operates "in the green range". Operators can immediately see operating conditions, pressure course, supply quantity, performance, as well as alerts that are sent automatically by e-mails if necessary and they can access these data from a different place, via network connection. On this basis, Sigma Network offers Ethernet network extension to monitor and control a compressed air system.
