High-grade non-stick Teflon
Abrasion and Scratch-Resistant
The new generation of high-grade non-stick Teflon coatings from DuPont de Nemours (Deutschland) GmbH in Neu-Isenburg, Germany, offers up to 100 % better abrasion resistance and is more than 50 % more scratch-resistant than previous kinds – coupled with a reduced environmental impact. Based on a patented process, these highly resistant coatings have recently been awarded the industry’s first approval for use in contact with foodstuffs from Dutch authorities. Moreover, they meet the requirements of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Cooking ware manufacturers and consumers are able to select from four differently labeled grades:
- Teflon Classic: Two-layer coating for easy cleaning and convenient cooking,
- Teflon Xtra: Three-layer coating for extra durability,
- Teflon Select: Three-layer coating for even higher durability in daily use, and
- Teflon Platinum Plus: Three-layer coating for utmost durability and scratch resistance coupled with ideal performance during use.
With all four coating types, durability and protection from damage (measured in SBAR = Scotch Brite Abrasion Resistance in the so-called Scotch Brite test) have been improved significantly.
