"Industry 4.0" in Thermoforming
With its new T10 plate thermoforming plant, Geiss AG in Sesslach, Germany, completely eliminates mechanical synchronization. Every module in the machine is powered by a servo motor and synchronized electronically. In this way, the disadvantages of conventional force distribution via torsion shafts of angle drives and the resulting elastic deformations are eliminated.
Regarding "Industry 4.0", Geiss will demonstrate how the thermoforming plant loads the correct forming parameters for the material to be processed, produces the molded part, and then loads the corresponding program for the subsequent trimming operation. After completion, the processing data for this component – both forming and cutting – are output.
