Friction washer T 406

The program of Herbold Meckesheim GmbH, Meckesheim, Germany, now includes the T 406 friction washer. This compact machine is used for treating mixed soiled plastic wastes, such as PET bottles, agricultural sheeting, drums, canisters and oil canisters. It can be used at several stages in waste treatment systems, for example as a friction washer after size reduction, for unraveling paper and separating off waste water. The machine is also used as a mechanical drying centrifuge at the end of the washing process. It can also be used in hot washing systems as an alkali separator to separate out glues. The T 406 is delivered with powers up to 30kW and achieves throughputs up to 2t/h.

The shredded material to be processed is fed tangentially to the feed region of the machine and conveyed by the paddle rotor to the discharge over a perforated cylinder. The resulting centrifugal force separates out the dirty water and the plastic material through the cylinder perforations. To prevent blocking of the cylinder perforations, the outer cylinder surface is permanently cleaned by means of a rotary system. The machine thus supplies clean shredded plastics free of dirty water.
