Fit for All Requirements of Industry 4.0

Flexible Control Systems

Operating via the control system display becomes even simpler (© Keba)

The HMI and control solutions of Keba AG, Linz, Austria, can be integrated seamlessly into every control system and make plastics processing machinery fit for all requirements of Industry 4.0. With the aid of "RealTime Multitouch" and the associated "RealTime Widgets" hand motions are converted directly into machine motions. The predefined widgets replace costly mechanical control elements. Differences in panel versions are implemented in the software. This provides flexibility and reduces investment and repair costs as well. According to the manufacturer, project engineering for applications is simpler and faster, and user guidance more convenient. The communication for control utilizes fieldbus or the open OPC UA standard.

The networking and integration of production systems, and use of machine, process and production data offers new possibilities for plastics processors. With KePlast EasyNet, Keba offers a user-friendly program for low-cost networking of injection molding machines. Intelligent networking and extensive documentation permit efficiency-improving diagnoses with maximum security for sensitive data.

Proprietary software modules can be integrated as deeply as the core level of the control system and combined with industry-specific know-how. In this way, existing software structures and proprietary libraries can still be used; furthermore, software from third parties can be incorporated very easily. This guarantees protection of a company’s own know-how and ensures the competitiveness of the machine operator. In conjunction with the new Multitouch panels, custom applications for all types of injection molding machines can be configured precisely on the compact and powerful KeControl C3 hardware platform.
