Better Metering of Liquid Paints

Finke

Fibasol liquid colorants, which are based on a liquid binder, can be combined with virtually all thermoplastics, says Karl Finke GmbH & Co KG, Wuppertal, Germany. Unlike the case for masterbatches, users are not tied to one polymeric carrier material and can colorize various polymers with the same color mix. The liquid colorants are heat resistant, lightfast and physiologically harmless, adds Finke. They are therefore suitable for coloring food and cosmetics packaging made from, e. g. polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP). As the liquid colorants do not affect either the physical or the chemical properties of the material, they are suitable, according to the press release, for transparent shades.

Finke has collaborated with Movacolor B. V., Sneek, Netherlands, on metering the liquid colorants during injection molding. Their metering units act as a complete system because the colors are matched.
